The Debate On Iran and the GOP Challenges With Our Current Mindset
On November 12, 2011 there was a GOP primary debate with all of the major candidates on the stage.
One of the major and key issues during this debate was; Iran and their nuclear weapons program.
Specifically, what was the right course of action to take in this case, and if they were president what would they do? Many of the GOP candidates believe that the Obama Administration had handled it incorrectly.
Okay so, let's talk about this for a moment.
Newt Gingrich suggested that we pull out all the stops with our CIA and intelligence network to infiltrate and stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.
He even suggested the removal of scientists who were working on the nuclear program, and then complete deniability as a major key step.
Further he suggested that we add serious sanctions to the Iranian central bank to stop the money flow from the nation, as it sells oil.
This in order to shut down their economy if they won't stop building nukes.
As a last resort, Newt Gingrich agreed that we should use military intervention, and strike at their nuclear underground weapons facilities.
Rick Perry, Romney, and Cain agreed.
Indeed, I guess I do to after reading various reports from think tanks, and articles from Foreign Affairs, and the report from the IAEA.
There is also another book that I own, and it's one that I believe anyone talking about this topic should read also; "Iran The Coming Crisis - Radical Islam, Oil, and the Nuclear Threat - Is This Stage Being Set for the End of Times?" By Mark Hitchcock, Multnomah Publishers, Sisters, OR, (2006), two learned 14 pages, ISBN: 1-59052-764-X.
As you read this book, and even if you skip the religious context, biblical quotes, and Islamic Law aspects to all of this, it might give you an idea of just what we're dealing with, and how serious this really is.
Then, if you will consider that Iran sponsors proxy terrorist such as Hezbolla and Hamas, who will fire any weapon they can get into the Jewish state of Israel, then you can see the future is fairly foretold, just based on the present period, and recent past periods.
It's not that I wish to scare the American people, or completely jump on the bandwagon towards war in the Middle East.
In fact I don't want to see war the Middle East, but unfortunately if we don't preempt Iran and prevent them from getting nuclear weapons, and send a message to the world that this is unacceptable, we may not like the future we are allowing to occur.
Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
