Individuals can be recognized for their knowledge and dedication by obtaining certificates and professional designations.
- LOMA offers members online training courses in which information is accessed using the Internet. Courses are designed for corporate and individual learning as well as training needs. Courses are between 3 and 15 hours in length and a course demo can be viewed online at their LOMALearn site. A course catalog in which available courses are sorted by topic can be viewed on the site.
- A knowledge center is available that provides various documents that can be downloaded or viewed online. These include industry-specific articles, various case studies and surveys, and information about the benefits of e-learning. A course reference guide can also be viewed that contains information about many of the online courses that are available from LOMA, including many for the life and health insurance industry.
- LOMA offers various programs for corporations as well as individuals that are in the life and health insurance industry. One program that is offered is called the Fellow, Life Management Institute or FLMI program. This is a professional development program that is designed for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of the insurance industry. Individuals who complete the 10-course university-level education program will earn the FLMI designation.
- Corporations in the insurance and financial services industry need to be a member of LOMA in order to access many online resources and to enroll in the education programs available. This is because LOMA provides limited information, products, materials and services available to individuals who are not members. One benefit of being a member is that a company's employees will have free access to industry information found in the Information Center.
