Top Things to Do in Paris

A trip to Paris is a lifetime experience. There are so many great things to do, so if you you're restricted by time here's a list of must-dos during your trip to The City of Light.

Visit the Louvre

This world-famous museum could take days, weeks and months to see the entirety of its large collection of art. Avoid waiting in long lines and use Paris Museum Pass, which allows you to skip the lines and see the famous Mona Lisa or the Venus De Milo quickly. Be sure to get a map as the Louvre's layout can be complicated. Make a game plan, that way you won't get overwhelmed by the more than 35,000 pieces of artwork on display. It would be ideal if you could visit the Louvre for several days, but there are just too many other great things to do in Paris during your trip.

Climb the Eiffel Tower

The iconic Eiffel Tower has been the centerpiece of The City of Light for more than a century. Take the elevator to the top and enjoy some of the best views the city has to offer. You also can enjoy some fine dining at the top of the tower. You can also climb the stairs to the second tier of the tower, but it's not for the faint of heart. Be sure to bring a camera, because you won't want to forget your trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Take a cruise on Seine River

The Seine River runs right through the heart of Paris and offers plenty of cruise boat tours. You'll be able to float past some of Paris' greatest sights such as the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Go during the evening and you'll get the full effect of The City of Light

Climb the towers of Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the iconic symbols of Paris and gothic European history. Be sure to take a walk around the entire cathedral and enjoy the intricate architecture. Then you must go for an interior tour and walk up the nearly 400 steps to the top of the towers, just like the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Take a stroll down the Champs-Élysées

The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is one of the most famous stretches of road in the world. The end is highlighted by the Arc de Triomphe which is a testament to Napoleon's military legacy. The brick-laid road is also host to the final stage of the annual epic bike road race, le Tour de France.

See famous artwork at the Musee d'Orsay

Right across from the Louvre, the Musee d'Orsay houses a collection of some of the world's best classical and modern art. The d'Orsay especially caters to impressionist fans. You'll see works from Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, Degas and Manet. Be sure to use a Paris Museum Pass to avoid long lines.

Of course your Paris Visite isn't complete without taking the metro to get back and forth from all these great sights and activities. Instead of waiting in line and finding ticket booths use a Paris Visite pass on any train or bus to get to your next great Paris adventure.
