FarmVille Crop Guide - How to Protect Your Crops in FarmVille
FarmVille crops will result after the required time needed after planting the seed.
The crop will then be ready for harvest.
After which you can sell the ripe crops for coins.
Unfortunately, if you forget to harvest the ripe crops they will wither or rot.
Crops will wither after it is ready for harvest as they will in real life.
The thing to keep in mind in FarmVille is 100%.
It will take approximately 100% of the time to harvest the crop for the crop to start to wither completely.
Say you planted pumpkin seeds which take 8 hours to grow to ripeness.
When the pumpkin crop is fully ripe you will have 8 hours to harvest it.
If 8 hours passes and you still have not harvest, it will take another 8 hours, a total of 16 hours for it to completely wither.
The crop will wither half of the crop at the 12 hour mark.
I know this is difficult to understand so just remember these numbers: 100%, 150%, and 200%.
Back to the pumpkin crop example, it takes a total of 8 hours to harvest.
It will take (100% x 8 hours) 8 hours for the crop to start to wither.
At (150% x 8 hours) 12 hours assuming you have not harvested the crop yet, half of the crop will wither.
Finally, at (200% x 8 hours) 16, also assuming you have not harvested the crop will wither completely.
One of the fun items that will enhance crops is fertilizer.
You are going to have to be lucky to obtain the fertilizer because randomly selected users will receive 5 bag of fertilizer.
This is limited for one neighbor for one day.
Farmers are awarded 5 fertilizer bags upon completion of a neighbor's mission.
It will be removed when you visit another neighbor's farm.
It's a use or lose item, you will lose possession of the unused bags once you leave their farm.
You will notice when a crop is fertilized the crop will be larger than normal and have a shine to it.
Note that the fertilizer will only be available to once you have reached level 4.
If you have not reached level 4 the fertilizer will be useless to you.
It will also be useless if a crop is almost grown.
Your farmer will be awarded 20 FarmVille coins and 1 experience point for every square plot you fertilize.
Once you have reached level 10 you will be awarded a new bonus called crop mastery.
This reward will allow you to master a specific crop.
Take a look at the market when seeds and you will notice stars under each seed that will track your progress.
Each of these crops will have 3 levels.
When you fully mastered these crops you be given the opportunity to earn bonus experience points and coins.
