- 1). Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears. Tap "Power Off" and wait for your Droid to shut down completely.
- 2). Flip the phone over and grip the back with your thumb opposite the camera lens. Press down with your thumb and slide the back cover away from the camera lens. Use gentle, firm pressure to avoid breaking the battery cover.
- 3). Lift up the battery from the end opposite of the camera lens and remove it from the phone.
- 4). Slide the microSD card into the slot under the metal cover with the logo on the microSD card facing up and the metal contacts facing toward the top of the phone where the camera lens is. Press the card in until you hear it click in place.
- 5). Replace the battery by putting the side with the metal contacts against the metal contacts in the battery slot, then push the battery in place. Slide the back cover onto the phone until it clicks into place. Press and hold the power button until the Motorola logo appears.
