How to Sync iCal to Windows Mobile
- 1). Download SyncMate and install.
- 2). Connect your Windows Mobile device using the appropriate USB cable.
- 3). Launch SyncMate and click "Add Connection."
- 4). Select "Windows Mobile Device (USB)" and then click "Continue." Once your Windows Mobile device is properly detected, click "Continue" again to proceed. You may also choose to sync your Windows Mobile device using Bluetooth or Wireless if your mobile device supports these formats.
- 5). Enter a name for your Windows Mobile device and then click "Finish."
- 6). Select your Windows Mobile device from the toolbar and then click "iCal" in the left-hand sidebar.
- 7). Set the iCal to Windows Mobile sync settings according to your preferences.
- 8). Click "Sync Now" to sync iCal with your Windows Mobile device. SyncMate will notify you when the sync process is complete. You may also choose to synchronize other aspects of your Mac computer with Windows Mobile using SyncMate.
- 1). Download and install The Missing Sync. The software costs $39.95 as of September 2010.
- 2). Connect your Windows Mobile device to the Mac using the appropriate USB cables.
- 3). Launch The Missing Sync once your computer finishes rebooting. You will be required to enter the registration details you received when purchasing the product to continue. Enter your registration details and then click "OK."
- 4). Select "Devices" and then "Add Device" from the menu bar. Your Windows Mobile device should be automatically detected. Click the Windows Mobile icon and it will now be displayed in The Missing Sync toolbar.
- 5). Click the Windows Mobile icon and check "Calendars" as one of the synchronization items. You may optionally synchronize other items from your Mac computer at this stage as well.
- 6). Click "Sync Now" to synchronize iCal to your Windows Mobile device. The Missing Sync will display progress of the sync and alert you when it is safe to disconnect your device.
- 1). Download and install PocketMac for Windows Mobile. The software costs $29.95 as of September 2010 to download but is available for 90 days risk free. You may be prompted to enable support for various Mac applications. Click "Yes" to those you wish to utilize. The "Device Locator Assistant" will launch once installation is complete.
- 2). Connect your Windows Mobile device to the Mac using the appropriate USB cables and then click the right-arrow button in the "Device Locator Assistant" to scan for the Windows Mobile device.
- 3). Select your Windows Mobile device and then click "Configure."
- 4). Select your screen size and then click the right arrow.
- 5). Click "Configure" to complete the device set up. You will now need to restart the computer before using PocketMac to sync iCal.
- 6). Launch PocketMac and enter the registration details you received when purchasing the product and then click "Register."
- 7). Click the PocketMac icon in the menu bar and select "Preferences."
- 8). Select the "Calendar" tab and ensure that calendar synchronization is enabled. You may also enable other sync options from the preferences window.
- 9). Click the PocketMac icon in the menu bar and select "Synchronize" to sync iCal with your Windows Mobile device.
