How to Secure a Safe to a Concrete Floor
- 1). Move the safe to the spot on the concrete floor where you want it to be secured. Open the safe.
- 2). Locate the mounting hole or holes inside the safe. If you have a fireproof safe, there will be one mounting hole in the middle. If you have a safe that is not fire-rated, there will be four mounting holes, one in each corner.
- 3). Make a mark on the floor through the mounting hole with a black marker. If there's more than one mounting hole, make as many as four marks. These marks will be where you secure the safe to the concrete floor.
- 4). Move the safe away from the mark or marks you made on the concrete floor. Using your drill and concrete drill bit, drill a hole about 3 to 4 inches deep where you marked the floor. If there's more than one mark, drill as many as four holes.
- 5). Line up the mounting hole or holes inside the safe with the hole or holes you drilled in the concrete floor. With a nut on the bolt, place it through the hole in the safe and then into the concrete floor. Tighten the nut. Repeat this process for all the bolts if the safe has more than one mounting hole.
