How to Kill Moss on Concrete Driveways

    • 1). Spray the driveway with a high power pressure washer to remove the moss. Always follow the manufacturer directions before you use the pressure washer to prevent damage to the concrete.

    • 2). Kill the moss spores with chlorine bleach. Combine 1 cup of chlorine bleach with 9 cups of water in a bucket. Dip a stiff scrub brush into the bucket and scrub on the moss. Rinse the area with water from a garden hose.

    • 3). Cover the damp concrete with dry dishwasher detergent if the moss remains. Let the detergent sit for two to three minutes and then pour a pot of boiling water over the concrete. Scrub on the concrete with a stiff brush and rinse the area with clean water.

    • 4). Purchase a commercial herbicide from your local garden supply store if you have difficulty removing the moss. Always follow the directions on the product before you use it.

    • 5). Remove the remaining moss with a rake. Pick up the moss with gloves and throw it away in a garbage bag.
