How to Build a Roach Glue Trap

    • 1). Cut a piece of cardboard to a size able to fit into the spaces where you want the traps. A trap the size of a playing card will fit well in small spaces, or you can make triangular traps to tuck into corners.

    • 2). Coat a plastic knife with a thin layer of dish soap; this will keep the glue from sticking to the knife.

    • 3). Dip the knife into your insect trap glue and scoop out up to a teaspoon of glue. This glue is available at large home improvement stores and some hardware stores.

    • 4). Spread the glue in a thin layer over the entire piece of cardboard. Place a piece of wax paper over the glue if you are not planning to use the trap immediately.

    • 5). Set the trap in a location where you have seen roaches or their droppings. Place a small piece of food, such as a piece of bread, banana or peanut butter, in the center of the trap to entice roaches to walk on it.

    • 6). Check your traps periodically and replace any that have roaches stuck to them.
