Cellphone Organizing Ideas

    Address Book

    • Your address book is your source for information when it comes to family and friends. Without the proper care, the address book on your phone can become unkempt, making it difficult to locate the phone numbers of those you want to call. Take the time to clean out your address book, removing old or outdated contacts. Then, go through current contacts to make sure you have the most complete information. If you have different categories of contacts, such as work numbers and family numbers, download an app to help keep your address book organized for the quickest and most accurate information.

    Calendar

    • If you use your cellphone as a planner, your calendar is a lifeline to staying organized and on-the-ball. While most phones come stock with a calendar application or function, you might want to download another calendar application if your on-board calendar doesn't meet your needs. Ensure that you enter in appointments as soon as you know about them and set your phone to remind you a half-hour to an hour ahead of time so you never miss an important appointment. If you can move icons and applications around, organize your phone so your calendar is easily accessible from the home screen.

    Applications

    • If you own a smartphone, applications make your cell more functional. Unfortunately, excessive amounts of applications make it difficult to find what you're looking for when searching for applications across several screens. By organizing your applications, you make it easy to find things based on their purpose. For instance, on an iPhone you would tap and hold an icon until the icons all begin to shake. You could then drag and drop applications onto others to automatically create folders of like apps.

    Photos

    • Using your cellphone to snap pictures with an on-board camera means you never miss a thing, but it also means photo files packed with pictures if you don't remove them periodically. By tethering your phone to your computer and using an included program or your Windows Explorer to locate the pictures and transfer them to your computer, you can delete duplicates and free memory space so you have more room to snap pictures freely.
