The Heart in Paper and Card Making
Arts and crafts are becoming a craze nowadays.
More and more people are finding refuge in making things out of the simplest things.
For most of them, they feel creative, resourceful and most of all, they could feel their worth when they were able to come up with something unique and really wonderful.
Before, crafts are only for school children.
It is that activity that almost everyone dreads, but they would still have to do it anyway.
Most schools and teachers would choose to have their students work magic on paper and through a card making activity.
According to them, such activity works two ways.
It could both enhance the student's creativity and at the same time it could also help the children to be at tuned with his or her feelings and to express them without inhibitions.
However for many children or students, they find this activity as boring and they don't get to appreciate the many things that they could do with paper and the other things that creative card making could give them.
Admittedly even, I initially don't get the essence of this activity not until now that I am all grown up and already engrossed with the process.
Had I known that card making would be this fantastic and the possibilities of coming up with a unique is actually endless, maybe I would have enjoyed every minute that our teacher would ask us to work on a card making activity.
I should have listened to her tips while we are all forced into conceiving our first masterpiece.
I share this sentiment with quite a number of friends who are now finding refuge in card making.
They see card making as an efficient medium for expressing themselves and their feelings for a person.
Take for instance the experience of Linda, a close friend of mine ever since we are in elementary.
Back then, we totally abhor card making activities and we would even say hateful things to our teacher who would assign us with one crappy card making project.
For us, little girls, having students to make card is a sign that the teacher is way too lazy to have a lesson and teach.
This is the reason why she would rather waste our time in card making.
Years later, we found a special secret of that teacher.
Now that we are already working, we come across her in one of the event for the school's alumni.
She happily handed us a personalized greeting card.
Surprisingly, receiving a personalized greeting card really felt good.
Linda and I agreed that we have never felt so special right after we received the greeting card that our teacher gave us.
Apparently, it was the same card that we made for her class, years ago.
She just took time to polish it and add a heartfelt message.
Although, the card is not really that beautiful and awesome, the fact that she exerted an effort for each of her student is something that is very touching.
We are inspired by our teacher's dedication when it comes to working on paper and card making in general.
We also felt guilty about harboring ill feelings on her each time she would ask us to make a personalized greeting card.
