Scholarships for Latin College Students

    HSF General College Scholarships

    • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund is one of the largest sources of financial aid for Latin American students in the United States. The HSF General College Scholarship is open to high school seniors and above, including community college students. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. In addition to being of Latin heritage, applicants must be either U.S. citizens legal permanent residents with GPAs of 3.0 or higher. Prospective recipients must plan to enroll at a full-time two- or four-year degree program and apply for federal financial aid.

    AT&T Foundation Scholarship

    • This award, administered by HSF, provides $1,500 to dependents of AT&T employees who are pursuing two-year degrees or $2,500 to dependents pursuing four-year degrees. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be 25 years or younger. The award is given to prospective full-time students of Latin American heritage only. It is open to both high school seniors and undergraduates.

    Atrisco Heritage Foundation Scholarship

    • This scholarship is awarded to those who are heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant in New Mexico, although applicants may be resident anywhere in the United States. The scholarship is open to high school seniors, college undergraduates and graduate students. In addition to being verified heirs of the Atrisco Land Grant, applicants must have GPAs of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. They must also be U.S citizens or legal permanent residents of the U.S. and must apply for federal financial aid by completing a FAFSA.

    Gold Standard Scholarship

    • Sponsored by the NBA and Bacardi Gold, the Gold Standard Scholarship is given to those who have shown exceptional leadership skills and have a history of volunteering. Students must live in either Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans or New York City and have minimum GPAs of 3.0. Awards are $10,000 in value. All award recipients are eligible to enter into a larger scholarship competition with scholarships totaling $30,000 in value.
