- 1). Spray the entire front of the bow-front with an aquarium-safe glass cleaner. You can purchase it at a pet store or aquarium center.
- 2). Wipe the glass cleaner off the tank with a soft cloth. Wipe in a straight line and avoid circular motions.
- 3). Dip cotton swabs in the aquarium-safe glass cleaner and use them to clean the corners. Wipe the excess away with a soft cloth. Use hot water with iodized salt mixed in to give the glass an extra cleaning. You can also use hot water to clean the inside of the bowfront tank when you do your water changes. Just dip a paper towel or cloth in hot water and use it to clean up any accumulated algae and debris.
- 4). Remove the aquarium hood and clean it with a soft cloth dipped in vinegar. Vinegar is the perfect choice for cleaning aquarium hoods, which can be difficult to clean with normal glass cleaner. You can also use vinegar or lemon juice to clean the areas around the bulbs in the aquarium hood.
