- 1). Blot the oil spot with rags to soak up any puddles. Sprinkle a generous coating of kitty litter onto the oil stain. If the oil stain is not fresh, skip to Step 3.
- 2). Let the kitty litter sit on the spot for a minimum of one hour to absorb the oil. Sweep up the kitty litter from the floor with a broom and dust pan.
- 3). Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of hot water. Add 1 cup of trisodium phosphate.
- 4). Pour the trisodium phosphate solution onto the stain so that it is completely covered. Allow the mixture to sit on the concrete for 20 minutes.
- 5). Scrub the area with a plastic scrub brush until the oil spot is gone. Rinse the area with water from the garden hose if the concrete is on the outside of the home. If the concrete is indoors, soak up excess cleaning solution with dry rags and rinse the concrete floor with a rag and water.
