How to Get an Ink Stain Out of a Desk

Metal Desks

  • 1). Moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol. Wipe the ink stain on your metal desk. Discard the cotton ball when it becomes soiled, and repeat with a clean cotton ball to remove as much ink as possible.

  • 2). Place a pea-sized amount of vegetable shortening on your finger. Rub the shortening into the remaining ink stain on the desk to loosen it.

  • 3). Buff the metal with a clean cloth to remove both the shortening and the ink.

  • 4). Spray all-purpose cleaner on the metal desk. Wipe the desk clean with a dry cloth to remove greasy residue from the shortening.
