New Frigidaire Unpacking Instructions
- 1). Re-tape or replace packing before laying the appliance on its side in order to remove the base. In instances where doors or lids need to be held in place while moving the appliance into position or when removing shipping bases, make sure the packing is in place to keep the doors and lids closed.
- 2). Lay the appliance on its side and remove the shipping base. Appliances may come with a foam or wood shipping base that needs to be removed. Wood shipping bases will require an electric screw driver. Foam bases will need to be pulled off the edges of the appliance by hand.
- 3). Remove the shipping bolts. Frigidaire includes shipping bolts that keep movable parts static while being shipped --- the washing tub of a washing machine is a good example. Use a wrench to remove the bolt before using the machine. The bolt wrench size will be given in the unpacking instructions. Releasing the bolt may require the appliance to be turned on its side. Once the bolt is removed, the appliance can be placed upright and the remaining packing materials can be removed.
- 4). Cut clips and remove clamps that hold parts in place during the shipping process. Read the owner's manual carefully before cutting clips and clamps --- some may not be packing materials but are actually used to secure hoses into a particular formation that is advantageous for the appliance.
