Eat and Support Local History
The California State Military Museum has arranged a deal with nearby Fanny Ann’s Saloon – visit the museum, or simply stop by the front desk to pick up a coupon that will credit a dollar off of your Fanny Ann’s meal and donate it back toward museum operations.
Admission to the museum itself is only $5.00, or $3.00 for children and seniors.
Garden with a True Green Thumb

January 24-March 21, Thursday evenings 6:30-8:30pm
10-week green gardening workshops are happening again this month at the Utility Exploration Center in Roseville. February themes include irrigation, landscape design, “Right Plant, Right Place” and edible gardens. Cost is only $65 for the entire 10-week workshop (it began Jan 17 and ends March 21), with Roseville residents receiving a $10 discount.

This up and coming performing arts company presents its annual dinner show benefit – all proceeds to go to fund their two studios, including a location dedicated to 100% free dance, drama and music classes for at-risk youth and abuse survivors. Dove award nominee Lisa Daggs is the headlining act.
Ticket price includes Italian dinner, raffle, art gallery and full-length variety show.
41st Annual Business Awards Gala
6000 J Street, Sacramento – CSUS Union Ballroom

Presented by the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber, this gala includes an award ceremony, dinner and the premiere of “Latin Dancing with the Stars.” Celebrity dancers include Taro Arai from Mikuni’s fame, Cristina Mendonsa of News10 and Allen Warren, a District 2 City Council member.
The Art of Beer Sacramento 2013

This beer festival is a culmination of the very best breweries and food vendors throughout California. Taste beer from over 20 different state beer makers, enjoy a food pairing area and a silent auction. A portion of the proceeds benefits Ales for Autism.
Kids Crafting: Sugar Skull & Sacred Heart Activities
908 21st Street, Sacramento – Little Relics Boutique and Galleria
Both children and their parents are welcome to come learn how to craft sugar skulls and sacred hearts as found in Dios de la Muerte celebrations. Cost is $10 per person, and includes a take home craft.
By Hand: Extraordinary Fine Craft in Calfiornia
212 D Street, Davis – Pence Gallery
February 8-10, 12-17 – times vary
The well-regarded Pence Gallery in Davis is holding its first juried exhibit of fine craft – all created by California residents. Admission is free, and the Friday February 8th date includes an art reception from 6pm-9pm.
