How to Turn Your Speakers Into Satellite Speakers
- 1). Connect your speakers to your receiver with speaker wire. Some speakers contain a separate subwoofer. If your speaker has a separate connection for an on-board subwoofer, do not connect it. Your standalone subwoofer will provide all the bass in your satellite speaker system.
- 2). Connect the subwoofer to the receiver.
- 3). Place the speakers, now acting as satellite speakers, at equal distances away from the primary listening area. Placing the speakers at the same height as the listener's ears will benefit the sound.
- 4). Place the subwoofer against a wall, preferably near the corner of the room to maximize bass output.
