How to Install a New CD Player in a 99 Blazer
- 1). Pull the hood-release lever under the dashboard of the Blazer. Move to the front of the vehicle.
- 2). Lift the hood to access the battery. Loosen the negative battery cable clamp with the wrench. Move the cable away from the battery. Return to the inside of the vehicle.
- 3). Remove the two bolt screws on the lower dash panel under the steering column. The two screws are on either side of the steering wheel and can be removed with a 7 mm socket and ratchet.
- 4). Remove the bolt screw above the Blazer's instrument panel with the socket and ratchet.
- 5). Grab the dashboard panel at one corner and pull it away from the dashboard. The plastic clips that secure the panel to the dashboard will disengage with a moderate amount of force.
- 6). Remove the two screws beside the stereo and pull the stock deck from the stereo-mounting bracket. Unplug the two plastic wire connectors and antenna cable from the back of the radio.
- 7). Place the installation-kit adapter into the dock. Screw in the two screws formerly used to secure the factory stereo in the dock.
- 8). Plug the Blazer's stereo-wiring group connectors into the wiring-harness adapter leads. Plug the leads into the signal and power outlets on the back panel of the CD player.
- 9). Plug the black antenna cable into the GM antenna-adapter cord. Plug the adapter cord into the outlet on the left side of the CD player's rear panel.

Align the dash panel with the dashboard of the Blazer. Press firmly around the edges of the panel to connect it to the dashboard. Replace the two screws on the lower dash panel, on either side of the steering column. Screw in the screw above the Blazer's instrument panel. - 12
Place the negative battery cable clamp back onto the Blazer's negative battery post. Tighten the cable to the post with the wrench. Close the hood.
