How to Frame a Diploma Without It Wrinkling

    • 1). Place the diploma on an even surface such as a table. Ensure the table is clean.

    • 2). Measure the diploma and mark its four corners on the mount backboard using a pencil. Glue on four folded corners, which will keep the diploma in place. Using folded corners doesn't damage the diploma, unlike tape of other adhesives that may be used to attach the document to the backboard.

    • 3). Put the diploma on the mount backboard and carefully insert each corner, without wrinkling the document. Once the diploma is mounted on the backboard it is less likely to wrinkle.

    • 4). Place the matting board on the diploma. The mat protects the diploma and ensures it doesn't come in direct contact with the protective glazing or the glass. The diploma shouldn't touch the glass, because this may affect the ink and the longevity of the document. If your frame doesn't have a mat, use frame spacers.

    • 5). Arrange the glass on the matting board and diploma, and set the frame in place.
