How to Print an Audio CD Cover and Track List
- 1). Create a file folder on your computer for all the files related to this project. Store all of your audio and image files in this folder.
- 2). Measure the front and back of the CD case. Write down its measurements.
- 3). Gather the audio list for your track list. You may want to play with the arrangement of songs or audio until you feel that you have the right order. Different songs played against each other provide a different emotional impact. If it's an informational audio, sort the sound into chapters in chronological order.
- 4). Write down the track list once you have settled upon your final one.
- 5). Add your audio files to the file folder. Name them according to the track list you created earlier. It'll be easier to identify them later.
- 6). Decide what kind of cover design you want for your audio CD. You may want to make some sketches of your ideas. These sketches allow you to work out the visual composition of the piece. Decide what kind of images you need to pull from your clip art file or photos you'll need to take.
- 7). Gather your visual images. Pull pictures and illustrations off a clip art CD or take pictures with your digital camera. If you need to take pictures, upload them to your file folder using the accessories that came with the camera. If you're taking the images from a CD, save your favorite pictures for the audio CD in the file folder as well.
- 8). Open your graphics and layout program. Use one with which you have familiarity. Otherwise you'll spend more time learning how to use the graphics program than putting together your CD cover.
- 9). Create a file in your design program that fits the measurements of the CD case. Make a front and a back cover. The back cover is where you'll write your track list. Check whether the cover's measurements will fit the CD case.

Name the file and save it in your file folder. - 11
Begin placing your pictures or illustrations into your project file. You'll find it helpful to consult the sketches you made for this purpose. - 12
Type in the textual information for your audio CD. Remember to include the written information on the back cover of the CD. Write in your song or audio list. Consult your written track list to ensure that you've named them the same thing on both lists. - 13

Cut out the audio CD covers, and slide them into the case. - 16
Create an audio CD following the track list that you've created. Burn the CD.
