How do I Troubleshoot a Cycle Ops 2.4 Computer?

    • 1). Check to see if your computer is turned on. If you don't see any information on the screen or the backlight is not lit, press the "Mode" or "Select" button to wake up the computer. If it still does not turn on, make sure it is not too cold. The computer will only work at temperatures between 32 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are within these temperature limits, the battery may be dead. Visit your local bike shop to acquire a replacement battery.

    • 2). Check to see if the "Transmission" icon is displayed onscreen. This icon tells you that the computer has interfaced with the power meter in the hub. If you don't see the "Transmission" icon, spin the wheel to "wake up" the hub, as it may be in sleep mode. If this doesn't work, hold down the "Mode" and "Select" buttons until "Find" appears on the display. Spin the rear wheel and the "Transmission" icon should appear. If none of these solutions work, the batteries in your power meter may be dead; obtain replacements from your local bike shop.

    • 3). Check that the data displayed on screen is static; that is, the data should not be blinking, as this indicates something is wrong. If the screen blinks, either the computer battery is low or the computer is not seated correctly in the mount. Remove and replace the computer face in the mount. If the issue persists, acquire a new computer battery. If only the "Transmission" icon is blinking, replace the batteries in your hub, as they are low on power.

    • 4). Take your bike for a test ride and observe the power data. If the data seems incorrect, reset the torque calibration of the power meter. Press the "Select" button until you see "WATTS" appear on the screen. Press and hold the "Select" button a second time until "Torque" appears. Press the "Select" button once more until you see a "0" appear under "Torque." Press "Select" one more time to save this setting, then test-ride your bike again. The power should seem more accurate as the torque settings have been reset.
