Darren Sammy is the West Indies Cricketter and he was born on the 20 December 1983 at the Micoud, St Lucia. He is 27 years and 33 days old. He played for the teams like West Indies , Northern Windward Islands, St Lucia, Stanford Superstars, University of West Indies Vice Chancellor's XI, Windward Islands. He is an All rounder player of the team. And being an allrounder he is Right-hand batsman and Right-arm fast-medium bowler.
He is the first one to come from the St Lucia, an island. He proves a great favour for the the West Indies squad.Sammy spent learning time at Lord's with the MCC cricket staff, also showed off his skills as a batsman and right-arm medium-pacer as part of the University of the West Indies.
Sammy won a one-day cap in England in 2004. He was being called up late to the Champions Trophy squad in September 2004 after Jermaine Lawson pulled out with a stress-fractured back. In July 2006, He gained the best chance as he was named as St Lucia's captain for West Indies'first-ever Twenty20 tournament and was again choosen for the tour of England in 2007.St Lucian people first time saw Sammy in an ODI in his home country when he played at Gros Islet against Sri Lanka in 2008.
He played in a weakened team against Bangladesh in 2009, he ended the two-Test series with 12 wickets. The 2010 Zimbabwe tour of the Caribbean became another success of his career as he became the first West Indian to take five wickets in a Twenty20 international. Even the West Indies lost but took eight wickets at 12.50 and an economy rate of just 2.85 - was a major factor in the home side's win.
In West Indies' whitewashing vs South Africans later that year his batting proves noticeable performance.Sammy scored his runs at a strike-rate of 145.31, and became the fastest ever half-century by a West Indian in the second ODI at North Sound,by getting a win.
