Book Scouting - The Last Great Treasure Hunt
You've been digging through boxes of books and you start to skim the very top of the books to get an idea of what is in the box, and then zooming on to another box to get a jump start on the other scouts looking for books.
It will take you a while to learn, maybe years, but you need to go to the bottom of every box to find out what is hidden down deep.
I cannot tell you how many times I have found great books, truly great books at the bottom of a loser books.
Why this is, I have no idea.
It feels like there is this unwritten law of physics that when boxes of books are thrown together, that some energy field forces all the great books to the bottom of box.
It must be the law of great words.
But, whatever it is, it works, the great books are at the bottom of the boxes.
I have been in stacks of boxes of books that were over my head.
It has been around 90 degrees but looking for books is the best thing in the world.
It is the true treasure hunt of today's world.
You can search in bookstore, thrift stores, garage sells, your house, your neighbor's house and secret book places you find on your own.
Treasure hunting is a great sport.
In this great treasure hunt when you learn the how, where, and what to purchase in books, you can take them right out and sell them for cash.
Real spendable cash that can pay bills, take you on vacations, or a great Saturday night out.
If you want to be a full time book scout you can make your living finding and selling books.
This is easier to do in large metropolitan areas then living in the country, but anything is possible.
I know one person who lives in the country and when he goes to town he buys up books and then take them home and sells then on the net and then when he goes back to the city again he takes the left over books and sells them to bookstores, and then goes out and buys more books.
The Treasure hunt...
nothing like a good treasure hunt.
