Interesting Uses For Recycled Jewelry Boxes

Jewelry boxes may come in different shapes and sizes, but one thing is for sure; they will end up in the trash sooner or later if their owners find no use for them.
However, if you come to think of it, there are practically hundreds of ways that you can make use of jewelry boxes especially during these times that we are on the emphasis of going green.
The most common alternative use for a jewelry box is as storage.
That is quite understandable and most people do that.
You can use it as containers for small items such as keys, coins, and buttons.
Simply tie it with a rubber band to secure the lid.
If you are using more than one as container, label each box properly to avoid confusion.
If you have a passion for beads, you can customize your own bead organizer.
Simply collect unused jewelry boxes of the same sizes and connect the sides using glue.
Secure the bottom as well using a tape.
Achieve the same effect of that of a commercial bead organizer by using a board as the lid.
To create the lid, cut an illustration board or any cardboard to the size of your custom-made organizer.
Secure the lid in place by using either glue or a tape.
You can also use recycled jewelry boxes as containers for sewing accessories.
Sewing kit containers are usually made of transparent plastic and can often crack or break easily.
In case this kind of incident happens to your sewing kit container, transfer the contents to an unused one instead of buying another.
Instead of putting all the sewing accessories together in one box, get another unused jewelry box and fill the bottom with upholstery foam.
This will serve as the pincushion.
Having a separate container for the pins will make it easier for you to access sewing accessories without having trouble getting pricked.
Recycling jewelry boxes allows you to bring out your creative juices so aside from being a productive activity, it's also fun.
You can take it a little further as well by decorating your custom designed boxes to make them look more appealing.
