Upcoming Golf Course in Cochin
The sports department of kerala and the kerala golf association have come up with a project of a 18 hole golf course in the city.
The golf association have found out an 80-acre plot near the Naval Armament Depot (NAD) at Kalamassery.
But there are few hurdles in the path of the association as the land is ouned by the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation.
The site has been selected with the view of developing a golf course in security sterile zone.
But the land being near the NAD, the construction in the site is restricted under provision of the Indian Works of Defense Act 1903 and the Government of India Ministry of Defense Gazette notifications of January 21, 1992.
The Kochi Corporation, Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA), Southern Region of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Kerala Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Kerala State Small Industries Association have given their signal to the project.
The first phase is planned to be completed within a period of 3 years with 3 crores.
The second phase is scheduled to be completed in next two years with 2 crores.
