How to Use a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W120
- 1). Press the "Power" button on the top of the camera to turn the DSC-W120 on. The LCD screen on the back of the camera illuminates. Twist the "Mode" dial on the back of the camera to the camera icon or "Automatic" mode. Point the camera toward the subject and frame her in the LCD screen. Press the "Shutter" button on the top of the camera down halfway. The camera automatically adjusts its focus on the subject and the settings to properly expose the image. Fully depress the "Shutter" button to take the picture.
- 2). Twist the "Mode" dial to the film strip icon or "Video" mode to shoot a movie. Aim the DSC-W120 at the subject and fully depress the "Shutter" button to begin capturing footage. Press the "Shutter" button once more to stop movie capture.
- 3). Press the "Zoom" lever on the back of the camera to zoom into or away from the subject. Push the "Zoom" lever toward the "T" to zoom in on the subject. Push the "Zoom" lever toward the "W" to zoom away from the subject.
- 4). Press the "Menu" button on the back of the camera to access certain "Scene Selection" modes. Use the Four-Way Navigator key on the back of the camera to highlight and select each mode. Select "Twilight" mode to take pictures at night without losing the nighttime ambiance. Select "Snow" mode to properly capture bright scenes, such as brightly lit beaches and ski resorts. Select "Fireworks" mode to shoot and properly capture fireworks.
- 5). Press the "Flash" button on the back of the DSC-W120 to cycle through the flash settings. Select "Auto" to allow the camera to automatically decide when the flash should fire. Select "Fill" to command the flash to fire every time the "Shutter" button is fully depressed. Select "Off" to turn the flash off altogether.
- 6). Press the "Playback" button on the back of the camera to review captured images and footage. Press the Four-Way Navigator key left or right to travel backward or forward through saved files. To delete an image, press the "Menu" button as the image is displayed, select "Delete," select "This Image" and press "Enter" inside the Four-Way Navigator key.
