How to Convert a Spade Terminated Line Cord to a Modular Plug

- 1). Unplug the modular connector end from the phone. Snip off the spade terminations from the other end of the wire, just under the metal collar.
- 2). Lay the ends of the cable flat, ensuring that each wire is as near to identical in length as possible. Trim as necessary.
- 3). Place the terminated end of the phone wire next to the freshly trimmed end. Observe the order in which the wires are inserted in the modular plug.
- 4). Push the ends of the wires into the RJ-11 phone plug. Set the plug horizontally into the modular crimp tool. Squeeze the handles firmly to compress the connector, terminating the wire.
