Around the World in 80 Days Game Hints

    The Facts

    • Around the World in 80 Days features techniques similar to the popular game Bejeweled. You must swap the positions of multiple colors of bricks--red, blue, yellow, purple, green--in an attempt to align three or more of the same color of brick. If successful, the aligned bricks will shatter, shifting the positions of bricks in the immediate area. The goal is to try to move pieces of a level-specific item, such as a compass, to the bottom of the puzzle, whereupon it will be added to your inventory. Once the item is complete, you can progress to the next stage.

    Hints

    • Don't worry if you cannot find three or more of the same-colored bricks around an item piece. Align bricks in another area. Doing so will often cause chain reactions, eventually shifting the bricks around the item piece.

Align four or more bricks to add to your power meter in the lower-left portion of your screen. Once fully charged, you can use the object inside (a hammer) to remove a brick of your choice. If you can't directly align the bricks around an item piece, consider trying to align four or more bricks in another area to boost your power meter.

Also, consider holding on to your charged power meter if breaking a certain brick will not immediately bring an item piece to the bottom of the puzzle. Continually aligning four or more bricks will upgrade your power meter and allow you to break multiple bricks at once.

Since each stage is timed, you have only minutes to complete it. Push the eye icon at the top of your screen if you get overwhelmed. This pauses the game and allows you an indefinite amount of time to catch your breath.

If possible, try to bring the hourglass icons that are sometimes located within the puzzle to the bottom. This will freeze the clock, giving you additional time to complete the stage.

If you get stuck, wait a few seconds. The game will eventually prompt you with a tip on which bricks you should move.
