Good Home Remedies for Acne

    Dairy Products

    • Milk, buttermilk and yogurt all contain lactic acid. This mild acid can gently remove the oil, dirt and dead skin cells that contribute to acne.

    Lemon Juice

    • The juice from lemons contains citric acid. This acid cleans the face by removing the top layer of dirt and oil. Lemon juice is also drying, so it helps dry out pimples.

    Vinegars

    • Both apple cider vinegar and white vinegar contain ascetic acid that can gently exfoliate the skin. The vinegar also aids in drying out break outs.

    Table Salt

    • A scrub made with table salt and water cleans the pores deeply and also sloughs off dead skin cells, which otherwise contribute to break outs.

    Baking Soda

    • Another good scrub that deep cleans and exfoliates is a paste of baking soda and water.

    Hydrogen Peroxide

    • Hydrogen peroxide is a common bleaching agent that's useful for fading acne scars. It also removes bacteria from the skin which otherwise may lead to acne cysts.
