      If you choose flooring that looks very similar to your cabinets, you may not get the clean look that you want. Instead, you might get a monotone look that is sterile and unappealing. If your cabinets are floor to ceiling, then you will have one color in most of your room. Architect Bill Hirsch recommends having two different grains and two different colors in the flooring and the cabinetry to add visual interest.
