How do I Make Diamond Cut Sterling Silver Lariat Necklaces?

    • 1). Cut a 58-inch length of sterling silver beading wire. The overall length of the lariat necklace strand will be 50 inches. The added length is to secure the wire with crimp beads and to create a loop on each end of the necklace for added design. Adjust the length of your lariat necklace to fit your personal style.

    • 2). Thread one sterling silver crimp bead onto one end of the sterling silver beading wire. Add three 6.5mm diamond cut sterling silver beads, one 10mm diamond cut sterling silver beads and three more 6.5mm diamond cut sterling silver beads. These beads are the loop design; add more beads to make a larger loop and fewer beads to make a smaller loop. Keep the large 10mm bead in the center of your bead design.

    • 3). Loop the tip end of the sterling silver wire as it exits the loop beads through the crimp bead. Extend the end of the wire beyond the crimp bead at least 1-inch. Crimp the sterling silver crimp bead by pressing it closed with crimping pliers. You have made a large, beaded loop.

    • 4). Thread 6.5mm diamond cut sterling silver beads over the open end of the beading wire to the crimp bead at the top of the loop. Slide the first few silver beads over both strands of wire extending from the crimp bead. Fill the wire with diamond cut sterling silver beads up to 4 inches from the end.

    • 5). Repeat Steps 2 and 3 to make another diamond cut sterling silver loop at the end of the lariat necklace.
