What to Do With Rose Petals at a Wedding?

    Aisles

    • Scatter rose petals down the aisle at your ceremony. For an outside wedding, create a path of strewn roses to walk down. Give your flower girl a basket of rose petals to scatter as she walks down the aisle before you. You might want to create a path of pink rose petals and let the flower girl scatter white petals on top as she precedes you. You can also make a petal-strewn path from the ceremony to the reception area to guide your guests.

    Centerpieces

    • Make small arrangements of rose petals at each guest table encircling a vase of roses or a single long-stemmed rose. Instead of flowers, place a floating rose-shaped candle in a short clear glass bowl and surround it with a circle of rose petals. Circle the wedding cake with rose petals, and add a few to the cake itself to unify the entire setting. Create small arrangements of rose petals in a small bowl with a single floating candle to add to powder rooms, waiting areas and entries to the ceremony and reception.

    Tabletops

    • Create elegant and dramatic tabletops with rose petals. Spread a runner of petals down the center of the bridal table, ending in a heart-shaped design at the center of the table where the bride and groom sit. Alternatively, place several tall glass cylinders, each with a single floating candle, along the length of the long table with rose petals strewn between and around them. Coordinate the colors of the candles and petals with your decor theme.

    Guest Favors

    • Make favors for the guests at the ceremony and the reception. Use tulle circles tied with ribbon to create bundles of rose petals for guests to open and toss at the bride and groom instead of rice, confetti or bubbles. Leave the bundles in a basket at the entrance to the ceremony. For the reception, create favors for guests to take home. Fill small clear plastic boxes with rose petals for guests to take home and add to a potpourri dish. As an alternative, make paper cones from doilies and fill them with petals.
