- 1). Ventilate the workspace, and apply the caulk remover. Read the directions on the product label carefully to ensure that the proper amount is applied; avoid contact with any unaffected areas of the painted surface.
- 2). Wait the instructed period of time while the sealant softens for removal. Then cut into it using a utility knife, and allow the caulk to fall free from the painted wall.
- 3). Carefully peel away the excess caulk with a pair of needle nose pliers. Use a plastic scraper for leverage if necessary, but only apply very little force.
- 4). Dispose of the loose pieces of caulk. Wipe the exposed seams with a non-ammoniated cleaner for a thorough removal.
