How to Hunt Deer With Apples
- 1). Cut an apple in half and rub it on the bottom of your shoes to help mask your scent while walking to your deer stand. Drop this cut apple anywhere near your deer stand.
- 2). Choose a tree 10 to 20 yards from your deer stand. Make sure you have a good view of the tree.
- 3). Rub the apple on the tree trunk, from 4 feet to 6 feet from the ground. When the skin has rubbed off the apple, turn the apple and continue rubbing on the other side of the tree.
- 4). Look for a branch on the tree that sticks out at about 4 to 6 feet from the ground. Stick the skinned apple on this branch so that it is held in place.
- 5). Climb into your deer stand and wait. The apple scent is at a good height to be carried in a breeze and tempt the deer into coming closer.
