How I Got Ripped Off Selling My Timeshare - Don"t Make The Same Mistakes I Made

The idea of buying a timeshare sounds great.
For me it brings in ideas of palm trees, lazy days sipping drinks with umbrellas in them on the beach, and just not giving a care.
That's great and all until the reality that you have to pay for everything all year-round comes into play.
That is not a good feeling.
Plus, when you own a timeshare it just gives you something else to worry about.
You have to constantly pay for it, and then you have to work your vacations around when you can get time at your timeshare.
It kind of makes a little jail for you that you pay for.
So usually there comes a time after you buy your timeshare that you have to sell it.
I'll tell you what I did.
I decided to sell my timeshare about 9 months after buying it.
I realized that I really didn't need it, and I didn't want to go to the same place every year for my vacation.
So what did I do? I went on the Internet and tried to find a place where I could sell my timeshare.
I found the directories that you have probably seen and I handed over my timeshare to an agent to sell it for me.
Bad choice.
So what happened? After I handed it over I had to pay $500 just to get it listed.
It finally got listed, but the price it was going for was way below what I had paid myself.
Before I could do anything the property had sold because I didn't get it evaluated before I sold it.
My advice is to always get your timeshare evaluated for a good price before agreeing to sell it.
