Things to Do in Mason, Ohio

    • Mason is a city in southwestern Ohio. It was founded in 1815 but wasn't incorporated as a city until 1971. Today it is a thriving business center with companies like Mitsubishi and Proctor & Gamble located downtown. Mason is also known as a resort center and families come from all over to enjoy the recreational activities it provides. Visitors traveling through the area will find there are plenty of things to do in the little town of Mason.

    The Beach Waterpark

    • One of the main attractions in Mason is the Beach Waterpark. It is a tropical themed park located just 20 minutes north of Cincinnati. Aquatics International magazine named The Beach "The Number One Waterpark in the Nation" in 2004. It earned the title by innovating new ideas that allow the beach to remain open in the winter months and by providing a night for teens called "Club Aqua." The park features 35 acres of terrain with live palm trees, real sand and crashing waves. Rides include: the Aztec Adventure, a water roller coaster that is over 500 feet of twists and turns; the Cliff is a slide that drops its passengers five stories in three seconds. There are several fast-food type restaurants to choose from, a kiosk for Dippin' Dots and a picnic area. Season passes start at $27.99 for guests under 48" tall and adult tickets are $35 to visit for the whole summer as of 2010.

    King's Island

    • Kings Island is an amusement park with rides, shows, special events and seasonal activities. The park has thrill rides including a roller coaster that extends 230 feet in the air and reaches speeds of 80 miles per hour. There are also family rides like the Adventure Express train ride and Congo Falls. There are several restaurant choices and they each offer family meal deals. Adult tickets are $27.99 and season passes for the entire year are $69.99 as of 2010.

    Crooked Tree Golf Course

    • The Crooked Tree Golf Course is a par 71, 18 hole course that is suitable for all skill levels. The course features four sets of tees and is unique with 6 par 3's, 5 par 5's and 14 holes where water is in play. The landscapes offers beautiful views and boasts lakes, meandering creeks and fairways lined with mature trees. The property has a fully stocked golf shop and a clubhouse with a maximum capacity of 175. The facility also offers instructional camps and tournaments for junior golfers with the goal of developing and advancing young golfers. Rates start at $20 for a night owl tee time as of 2010. Collared shirts are required with no denim shorts or pants.
