Roustabout offshore vacancies in the offshore drilling job are the most common jobs to come up vacant of any others.
Generally the driller and welders will be with the jobs for an extended period of time, but the roustabout job is one which requires a lot of hours and a lot of physical labor.
In a great many cases, people take the job, not expecting it to be quite so physical and some people simply aren't cut out for the tasks that are involved.
The Texas oil rigs are a far cry from the deepwater experience.
There is rust to scrape and metal to keep painted, not to mention the need to connect pipe, to do other maintenance tasks, and to keep the rig just generally in good shape.
The roustabout offshore vacancies are common and are one of the jobs that most people consider applying for.
In many cases they are the one job that nearly anyone can qualify for actually.
You're pretty much in a position of training to do other tasks on the offshore rigs.
Roustabouts are generally the one job on the deepwater or offshore rigs that aren't experienced in other tasks.
You're going to even help with cranes and many other difficult things.
The reality is however that your pay is going to far outstrip any other job that you might take that requires no experience.
The pay scale for a roustabout on an oil rig, particularly offshore oil roustabouts, is between 45,000 and 60,000 dollars a year.
Find that kind of a salary anywhere else where you need no training and no education.
Once they have accepted offshore roustabout vacancies, roustabouts very often take a beeline path straight to the top.
You can work the drill floor, Roughnecks, Crane operations, all kinds of other jobs are open to you.
You will start out slowly, working in things such as relieving people to take meal or coffee breaks and as you pick up steam and knowledge you're going to get more and more responsibility.
The roustabout jobs typically last about a year to 18 months and then you are doing other things and there is a need to hire a new roustabout.
The thing about accepting roustabout offshore vacancies, is that since you got into the offshore oil rigs at an entry level, you have no where to go but up.
You will certainly begin with a difficult job, but prove yourself and you can move up quickly.
You're going to work a lot of hours and be paid well for them.
Typically benefits in offshore roustabout vacancies are excellent.
You will be at work between 21 and 30 days and have an equal number of days off.
The pay is great and the work is certainly interesting.
While there has been a moratorium on offshore drilling, this includes only deepwater drilling and as such, offshore roustabout vacancies are still out there waiting.
