  Mount Rushmore is a national landmark that attracts visitors to view the famous carved presidential faces. The closest town outside Mount Rushmore National Park is Keystone, South Dakota. Keystone is a former gold mining town that also offers visitors attractions such as the Black Hills, museums, an operating gold mine offering tours, an alpine slide and an aerial tramway.
  
  

Roosevelt Inn

• The Roosevelt Inn is located just outside of central Keystone about a quarter of a mile from the entrance to Mount Rushmore National Park. The hotel offers guests the choice of three room types: economy, standard and superior. Economy rooms come with a queen-sized bed and sleep two people, while standard and superior rooms are available with either one or two king-sized beds and can sleep up to five people. All rooms are nonsmoking and come equipped with hair dryers, microwaves, refrigerators and coffee makers. Some standard rooms are available with private balconies. The hotel offers guests an indoor heated pool open during the summer months and a recreation room and indoor hot tub open year round. • The Keystone Boardwalk is located in downtown Keystone close to local shops and just two miles away from the park entrance. Rooms are available with either one queen-sized bed, one king-sized bed or a suite with two queen-sized beds and a hideaway bed. All rooms come with cable television and an alarm clock, and suites are equipped with a microwave and a refrigerator. The hotel offers guests a free continental breakfast. While there is no restaurant on site, there are nine restaurants within a quarter mile of the hotel.

Suites are available with microwaves and refrigerators.The hotel has an indoor heated pool, a sun deck and outdoor tennis courts. While the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant, it does offer guests a free continental breakfast and afternoon tea. • The Holiday Inn Express Keystone is located just outside of downtown and is two miles from the park entrance. The hotel offers guests standard rooms with either king- or queen-sized beds as well as suites. All rooms come with hair dryers, coffee makers, flat-screen televisions and free high-speed Internet access. The hotel offers and indoor pool and a whirlpool tub. While there is no on-site restaurant, the hotel does offer a free hot breakfast bar each morning and there are two restaurants and one bar within walking distance.
