Lead Follow Up Tips for Success

Ok so you have managed to get the leads rolling in which is really the hard part. But how do we keep them interested and transfer them into customers? Easy, be honest, helpful and supportive. Here are some tips to help you build your downline.

 Always call your leads
People leave their contact information for a reason. Use it to call your prospect and say hello, don't solely rely on Aweber to send automatic emails. People like to speak to a 'live' person, even if the service you are promoting is system automated.
 The biggest time waster is the 'maybe'
The last thing you want to do is waste time convincing prospects when we all know the most important time is that devoted to prospects who have decided to go ahead. Give the 'maybe's' a chance to think things through. There is no need to push or keep calling, if they are interested they will let you know.
 Lead follow up is to determine if the lead is right for your business
As a business owner you will only want good prospects so the aim here is to see if the lead is right for your business and vice-versa. Once this is determined we can move on.
 No prospect is better than a low probability prospect
When you have no prospects you will go out and find new ones by working on our marketing, this is time wisely spent. When you have low probability prospects sometimes we will hope to change these people which is time not spent wisely. If they are interested they will come to you.
 Save your resources on the high probability prospects
Our leads deserve our efforts, a lot of our time, money and emotion go into lead follow up. Some leads need more of these efforts than others, try to devote a majority of your resources on high probability leads as this is where your higher conversions are therefore where your time will pay off. Stop spending your efforts with those who are proving to be time wasters.
 Cut the 'salesperson' technique
Nobody likes to talk to a pushy salesperson. Lead follow up is simply a call to touch base with your prospect. You must let the person know that you are looking for a yes or no, and either is fine. Remember, the service you are offering is a service they are looking for so lead follow up is to for both yourself and your prospect to determine if this is right.
 If you can't get an answer, move on
When a lead remains undecided for a period of time it is about time you cut the conversation and move on. There is no point wasting both of your time on the phone when you can end the call and give the prospect time to think, and get back to you if they decide they want to talk further about moving forward.
These are just a few tips to aid you in devoting your time more wisely. When you have hundreds of leads flowing in you need to dedicate your time wisely between lead follow up, marketing techniques and working with your team.
