How to Report Census Index Problems
- 1). Determine the source of the problem that you have. If it is a problem with the questionnaire, call the Telephone Questionnaire Assistance center at 1-866-872-6868. A Spanish-speaking line is available at 1-866-928-2010.
- 2). Contact your nearest community center or housing assistance shelter if you do not have a permanent residence. Be Counted forms are available at community centers and many shelters to count those who do not have a legal residence. .
- 3). Draw a line through the incorrect answer and write the correct answer as close to the space as possible if you make an error while filling out the form.
- 4). Contact your regional center if you have questions or problems with the Census Bureau workers who visit your home. The Census Bureau Call Center can be reached at 1-800-923-8282 from Monday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
