St. Croix is the largest of the Virgin Islands, a U.S. territory in the heart of the Caribbean Sea. St. Croix is a popular tourist destination, with spectacular scenery and resorts that offer swimming, fishing and boating activities. Many of the hotels on St. Croix are all-inclusive, with their own golf courses, restaurants, beach access and nightly entertainment. - The Carambola Beach Resort and Spa sits on 28 acres on the north shore of St. Croix, along Davis Bay. It has three restaurants, an exercise facility, an 18-hole golf course and a full-service spa. Other features include a swimming pool and two lighted tennis courts. The hotel also helps guests arrange scuba diving expeditions. Standard rooms come with separate sitting areas with sofa sleepers, screened patios, ceiling fans, rocking chairs and large bathrooms. Rates range from $200 to $300 a night. Residents of the Virgin Islands get a discount.

The historic town of Christiansted is three miles away. Amenities include a free buffet breakfast each morning, two swimming pools, eight tennis courts and activities for children. The hotel's rooms and suites have views either of the mountains or the sea. Its Terrace restaurant has an extensive wine list. The Mermaid restaurant is on the beach. Rooms range from $360 to $765 a night.
