Feb 19, 2009 - Robert Rodriguez has added another film to his list of future projects. Rodriguez recently completed work on the family-friendly movie Shorts for Warner Bros, and now he's signed a deal with Dimension Films to write and direct Nerveracker.
Nerveracker, described as a 'futuristic action thriller,' moves ahead of Sin City 2 and Barbarella on Rodriguez' to-do list. Rodriguez and Dimension Films are aiming for an April 16, 2010 release.
In a statement announcing the deal Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company, said "My relationship with Robert started over fourteen years ago with From Dusk Till Dawn, and since then we've worked on a dozen films together. Robert has been an integral part of Dimension's growth and success and I'm looking forward to being back in business with him on Nerveracker. With movies like Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Spy Kids, and Sin City, Robert's vision is always one step ahead and I think that is what Nerveracker will be."
Rodriguez said, "This is one of those projects that we dreamed about making for years, and now the timing is right to finally do it. Bob has always been encouraging and shown genuine excitement for my ideas. That gets me pumped to make them realities."
