How to Remove Excrement Stains

    Upholstery or Carpet

    • 1). Remove as much of the excrement you can from the surface. Use a dull knife or a spoon, and take care not to spread the stain to other areas.

    • 2). Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of tepid water.

    • 3). Use the clean cloth to dab the detergent mixture onto the stain area, then blot the area until all of the liquid is absorbed into the cloth. Repeat this step until you see the stain disappear, or until the stain is no longer absorbed into the cloth.

    • 4). If the stain is still visible, apply a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to the area, then apply one or two drops of ammonia on top.

    • 5). Apply cool water to the spot using the cloth. Continue to dab until the stain disappears.

    • 6). Apply baking soda to the area and let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb any odors, then vacuum.
