The Best Places to Drop off Business Cards for College Recruiting
- Teens often frequent cafes and coffee shops during the evening hours and weekends. To target teens and young adults for college recruiting, leave your business card and information at local coffee houses. Choose coffee houses near high schools and in downtown areas. The best spot to leave your card and information is on a counter top or bulletin board.
- Restaurants are weekend hot spots for teens and their friends, as well as a primary place where teens work as hosts, hostesses, waiters or waitresses. Leave your business card with your waiter or waitress if he or she appears to be of college age, or leave one or two cards inside the menu holders. This way your card has the chance of being seen by different groups of teens who may happen to pass through the restaurant on a weekend or evening.
- A visit to the mall on a random weekday during your workday may prove to be quite fruitful later on. Visit some of the trendier stores where you know that teens shop. Go on a late Friday afternoon. Try on something and place your card in the mirror in the dressing room. It will have a high chance of being picked up, or at least seen by teens who will be headed to the mall later that evening.
- If you live in an area where public transportation is frequently used, or even if it's not, there's a high chance that teens will be using some form of public transportation to ride to and from school each day. Leave your business card in taxis, subway cars, and most importantly, in buses. Doing so will get your name and information seen by a number of teens in transit from their schools each day. Drop your card in the seat, or stick it in the inside window.
