How to Check My Verizon DSL Speed
- 1). Log onto the Internet with the computer you want to check.
- 2). Visit the Verizon speed test website at http://www2.verizon.net/micro/speedtest/hsi/. This test will measure downloads and uploads. It also measures the quantity of the data that's transferred from the Internet to your computer, and from your computer to the Internet within ten seconds.
- 3). Click on the box with the bright red arrow that reads, "Check My Speed".
- 4). Read the Verizon disclaimer on the next page that comes up. Then, click on "Continue" to begin the DSL speed test. You'll be asked to install software from Sun Microsystems, Inc. in order to run the Verizon DSL speed test.
- 5). Click on "Install" when the box appears on the screen. There are four steps in the Verizon DSL speed test. It may take up to two minutes to complete the test. It will check the connection, perform the upload test, perform the download test, and analyze the results. The steps and the status of each test will be displayed on the page.
