UR TV - The New Blog (Blog Review)
While aimlessly browsing on Blogger I stumbled upon a relatively new site that caught my attention.
The blog site was called UR TV, and based on the description it was a TV episodes guide for the user's favorite TV shows.
The first thing that caught my attention was the name.
It was an interesting choice of words that kept lingering in my mind, even when I logged out of the computer.
In addition the tan colored, minima template, was a subtle design and gave greater focus to the content of the blog.
I found this to be a breath of fresh air because it was not flooded with, obscure animation schemes, flashy banner ads, and empty content like so many other new blogs.
The first post was a TV review of the top-5 TV shows of the summer television season.
The user dedicates two paragraphs to each show.
The format is as follows: the name of the show at the top of the first paragraph, a picture in the middle, and the second paragraph at the bottom.
The first paragraph was about the premise of the TV shows, while the second paragraph was the TV review.
When reading the premises my initial thought was that the first paragraphs could be longer however they were informative and gave just enough detail for me to gain interest.
The TV reviews (second paragraphs) were decently written.
The user explained to my satisfaction why these shows were on his top-5 list and sparked my curiosity enough to tune in when they aired.
He also provided airtimes and networks that the shows were broadcasted on.
Also in each article segment the main character(s) were illustrated in the photo.
The pictures were a good visual aid that complemented the words in the article.
This helped piece together the entire posting.
When exiting the site the only thing that it might really need was some traffic.
In my opinion the simple template, catchy title, and decently enjoyable content this blog has the potential to gain popularity.
If the user had some comments on his first posting I think that potential would be met.
