How to Replace a Tire on My John Deere Riding Mower

- 1). Park the lawn mower on a level surface, then place the wheel chocks in front and behind the rear tires.
- 2). Place the jack under the frame at the front of the mower. Raise the mower up and place the jack stands under each side of the frame. Lower the jack until the mower frame sits firmly on the jack stands.
- 3). Remove the plastic cap in the center of the wheel by hand; this will expose the snap ring holding the wheel to the axle.
- 4). Pry the snap ring off the axle with the flathead screwdriver. Slide off the washer, wheel and the shim washers from the axle.
