How to Make a Custom Studio Room Divider

    • 1). Cut three pieces of plywood of equal size. Base the sizes of the plywood pieces on the height and length you want to cover with the custom room divider.

    • 2). Line the three panels up on the ground so that they are even. Space three hinges equally along the point where the left and center panels meet. Space three additional hinges where the right and center panels meet. Lay the hinges at their proper locations and place a pencil mark on the wood where the screw holes lie.

    • 3). Remove the hinges and drill a pilot hole at each pencil mark, basing the bit on the type of hinge and screw you use. Put the hinges back in the proper spots and screw into place to complete the basic layout of your room divider.

    • 4). Decorate each of the room divider panels to suit your tastes. Opt for paint colors that match the studio walls for continuity or paint a separate mural on either side for an artistic vibe. Add shelving on the center panel for extra storage space. Glue corkboard pieces to each panel to turn it into a bulletin board display area. Attach pieces of foam to each panel and cover with fabric for a softer finish.
