11 Reasons to go to Holiday World

Holiday World and Splashin Safari

In the summertime it’s natural to want to take your family to an amusement park in the Midwest. The problem is deciding which one to go to. You’ll find options to choose from in every state. Here are some reasons why you should bring everyone to Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in Santa Claus, Indiana

1.Two Parks in One Spot

Holiday World, the amusement park, and Splashin’ Safari, the waterpark, are intertwined. You pay one admission and you don’t have to go through an additional entrance. You just walk into the waterpark when you want, then back to the amusement park when you dry off.

2. Free Drinks

Yes, you read that right. You’ll find Pepsi Oasis stations throughout Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari with drink dispensers and cups. Options include various sodas, iced tea, water, and even Gatorade.

3. The Best in Rides

Holiday World has always been a leader in top rides. Time Magazine named The Voyage the No. 1 wooden coaster in the nation. Be sure to check out Gobbler Getaway, which combines a ride and a game, without the need to reach into your pocket for bills.

New for 2015 is the Thunderbird Steel Roller Coaster, the first launch wing coaster – it starts off fast – in the U.S.

4. Places to Chill

It’s not uncommon to have a member of the family who is unable or not interested in riding the rides and sliding the slides. Don’t worry, they’ll be fine at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari. You’ll find plenty of benches to sit back in around the amusement park, and lots of lounge chairs in the waterpark.

5. Lots of Food Options

Whether you are eating healthy, have special diet needs, or are ready to indulge, you’ll find options for all at Holiday World. Kringles Café has a little of everything, The Alamo has restaurant worthy Mexican food, and George’s Pizza & Shakes is all gluten free. If you want to throw the diet out the window for the day, stop at the Funnel Cake Factory or Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen.

6. Sunblock and Lockers

Another bonus at Splashin’ Safari is free sunblock. You’ll find spots all around the park with large bottles filled with sunblock so you can keep everything in your locker. Although you will be charged a nominal fee for the lockers, they are big enough to share and you can go in and out of them all day without paying again.

7. Something for Every Age

Kids of all ages can find something to do at Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari. While The Raven may only be for the older riders, younger children can enjoy the rides and activities at Holidogs FunTown and Safari Sam’s Splashland.

8. It’s All Well-Kept

Whether you are walking between the sections or within one, you’ll notice tree-lined walkways and clean paths throughout Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari.

10. Free Shuttle or Parking

Less than a mile from the entrance to Holiday World is Lake Rudolph Campgrounds. This massive park has cabins, cottages, RVs (bring your own or rent one), and spots for tent camping. While staying there you can get discount tickets to the amusement and water park.

11. Christmas in July (and May… and June… and August…)

If you are staying at Lake Rudolph, you can leave your car at your accommodation and take a free shuttle back and forth to Holiday World. For those just coming to the day, you’ll find plenty of complimentary parking.

The best part about Holiday World? It’s always a holiday! Christmas is celebrated in Santa Claus, Indiana, all year round, though you might want to make a trip sometime during the real holiday season to see the light displays.
